The present work serves as a basis for content strategy processes within the city of Vienna and for the revision of the subject areas of the wien.at website. The topic area "Parking in Vienna" is one of the most used areas of the website of the city of Vienna. It therefore serves as a prototype for the redesign of digital content. Due to complex structures and different responsibilities, the author sees this work in the content strategy as a promising approach. As a result, processes can be optimized and solutions developed as part of a guideline that forms the basis for future digital projects. The present master thesis is divided into several sections with different emphases: In the first part you will find an introduction to the content strategy as well as a critical examination of the approaches and methods of this discipline. After the theoretical part the practical implementation follows: With the help of a quantitative content inventory and a qualitative content audit the status quo of the content of the topic "Parking in Vienna" is explained. Specially created user stories provide information about problems and weaknesses of the subject area. The results of the Master's thesis are included in a guideline, which is an aid and argument for future new concepts of wien.at topics. The author of this Master's thesis has been part of the Press and Information Service of the City of Vienna since October 2016 and works in the Internet and New Media Department. She is responsible for the development, implementation and marketing of digital products and projects. The pilot project "Parking in Vienna" is bigger and more diverse than this master thesis can cover. For this reason, the author sometimes refers to findings that have already been developed by members of the project team. In addition, this work builds on an already defined content strategy for the wien.at website.
